About The
Artist
Jamie Risdon Lentzner started drawing as
soon as she was given a crayon. In
1993, she graduated from San Jose State
University with a B.A. in Computer Arts.
After working for two start-up computer
game companies she opted to follow her
passion, animating children’s ed.
software. She landed at The Learning
Co., animating Reader Rabbit and friends
for the next four years.
1999 was a turning point in Jamie’s
life, she became a mother with the birth
of her first child, Grant. Three months
into motherhood, she found herself
teaching art and cartooning to children
at the De Colores Art School in San
Mateo, CA. In 2002, Jamie’s second child
was born, Abigail. Shifting away from
trains, and dump trucks, Abigail’s room
needed a feminine theme. After painting
her room in a spring garden theme, she
wanted to find something whimsical that
would tell visitors that this was
Abigail’s room. Jamie could not find
letters that were decorative enough, so
she decided to put her artistic
background to use, and make them
herself.
Jamie has been featured in Parents
Magazine, The Wall St. Journal, The San
Francisco Chronicle, Kid's Today and
Better Homes & Gardens Kid's Rooms. Her
whimsical designs incorporate a myriad
of popular nursery & children's room
themes and are certain to complement
your chosen decor.
